Austin Tang is the Founder and Director of Austin Tang Interiors, a Manchester-based interior design studio specialising in luxury residential and brand-led commercial spaces. Originally from Hong Kong, Austin brings an international perspective shaped by his experience across Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UK, combining contemporary design with cultural heritage to create interiors that are both visually striking and deeply meaningful.
At the heart of Austin’s work is a simple philosophy: great design should do more than look beautiful, it should tell a story, evoke emotion, and create a lasting connection between people and the spaces they inhabit. Every project is approached with the belief that thoughtful design has the power to enhance wellbeing, celebrate identity, and stand the test of time.
Austin’s entrepreneurial journey began with the opportunity to design Hong Kong’s first padel tennis club, transforming it into a pioneering lifestyle destination that brought together sport, hospitality, and community. Following the success of the project, he was commissioned to design a second, larger-scale padel club, further developing his vision of creating immersive environments where people, brands, and experiences come together.
A graduate of Raffles College of Design and Commerce with a Bachelor of Design, Austin has also studied Feng Shui interior design, enabling him to combine modern design principles with centuries-old philosophies of balance, harmony, and spatial awareness. This distinctive approach allows him to create interiors that not only reflect the personality of his clients but also foster a deeper sense of comfort, connection, and purpose.
From bespoke private homes to hospitality venues and commercial environments, Austin is passionate about blending quiet luxury, craftsmanship, cultural influences, and timeless design. His work is driven by the belief that every space has a story waiting to be told, and that the best interiors are those that leave a lasting emotional impression long after people have left the room.
Inspired by internationally renowned designer Marcel Wanders, Austin admires the ability to combine storytelling, craftsmanship, innovation, and emotional connection within every project. He shares the belief that design should have a soul, creating environments that inspire conversation, enrich everyday life, and become meaningful experiences rather than simply beautiful spaces.
But Austin’s ambition extends beyond creating exceptional interiors. Through Austin Tang Interiors, he is committed to building a design studio recognised not only for the quality of its work, but for the emotions, stories, and experiences created within every project.
